Geftib containing the active ingredient gefitinib is considered a tyrosine kinase inhibitors type of medication. The medication should be used when other medicines or other types of treatment have proven to be unsuccessful to treat non small cell lung cancer. It works by interfering with the growth and spread of cancer cells to nearby tissues or their transfer to other areas of the body.How is GEFTIB used?
Geftib is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The medication can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient???s condition and their response to the therapy. If the patient cannot swallow the tablets whole, it may be dissolved in a glass of water for about 10 minutes to be taken as a liquid.
